Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to numerous racial slurs that left her feeling like someone who was not wanted. She began to gain confidence during the 9th grade, when she entered a school audition. She received a lot of praise for her performance. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. She graduated at the age of 22 with an education from the Julliard School in New York. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. The greatest accomplishment of her career occurred with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by critics. The following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. An accomplished singer and producer, she's produced songs as well as an extended work. She is an activist who is a tireless advocate in the cause of LGBT equality.
